PACTware is a manufacturer- and fieldbus-independent software application for easy operation of field devices in automation technology. The tool is used for configuration, parameterization and diagnosis of the devices. The software is the most widely used FDT frame application.

PACTware works with DTMs according to FDT specifications 1.2, 1.2.1, 2.0. As of version 6.1, the FDT specification 3.0 is also supported. Communication DTMs are used for communication with field devices via standard protocols such as HART or Profibus.

Additional gateway DTMs can be connected between communication DTMs and the DTMs of the field devices, e.g. to parameterize remote I/O systems or multiplexers.

In addition to the full-featured PACTware , which has been on the market for years, there is now also a PACTware DC version with the following features:

• Point-to-point connection
• Simple operation
• Automatic scanning of interfaces
• Touch operation on Windows tablets

PACTware DC uses all your already installed DTMs.  There are two icons on the desktop so the user can distinguish between the two types of PACTware .
